Vyshyvanka Day at the Jewish Lyceum of Dnipro

Ukraine’s popular informal holiday — Vyshyvanka Day — was celebrated in a bright and creative way at the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, the Jewish Lyceum No. 144 named after Levi Yitzchak Schneerson.

The celebration at the Lyceum was called “The Vyshyvanka Code” and featured an engaging quest along with a very popular photo zone. Students wore embroidered shirts in a wide range of styles — from delicate floral patterns to strict geometric designs.

“Students from grades 1 to 11 proudly wore their vyshyvankas, showing unity and love for Ukrainian traditions that unite our shared Ukrainian civic nation,” said Lyceum Deputy Director Svitlana Romenska. “Vyshyvanka Day at the Lyceum became not just a holiday but a true lesson in patriotism, history, and culture. We are proud of our students who honor their people’s traditions and bring the beauty of the Ukrainian vyshyvanka to the world!”
