Students of the Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Schneerson Yeshiva of Dnipro made a large collective Birkat Ilanot, a blessing of flowering fruit trees, which, according to Jewish tradition, is performed in the month of Nisan.
“The students and their teachers did it as a very interesting and solemn ceremony,” said Rabbanit Hana Segal, the yeshiva’s director, “Everyone received a blessing text and, together with the teacher, they all read it out loud, thanking God for doing such miracles for us, even though we are sometimes used to them. The Jewish tradition reminds us that this is a great miracle and we must realize it.”
In the Jewish community of Dnipro, Birkat Ilanot is held in many Jewish institutions, and we are very happy to inform our readers about this, encouraging them to find a flowering tree and say the blessing. (If you did this this year, you do not need to repeat it, this blessing is said once a year, specifically at the Nisan , its text can be found here)
