At the Dnipro Machon “Chaya Mushka”, Yud Alef Nisan was celebrated vividly and interestingly, marking the 123rd anniversary of the birth of the leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
In the days leading up to the holiday, all the girls received special notebooks, very beautiful and attractive, in which each recorded her good deeds to prepare a meaningful gift for the Rebbe on his birthday and to strengthen her personal connection with the Rebbe.
At the beginning of the celebration, the students of the Machon wrote special letters to the Rebbe, known as PaN, which stands for “Pidyon Nefesh”‘ establishing an even stronger connection between each Jew and the leader of our generation, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. After writing the PaN letters, the girls participated in an educational game, where they had to follow an interesting route at each station, learning fascinating facts about the life and work of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and realizing that it is the Rebbe who unites the souls of all Jews of this generation. Thus, the best gift for the Rebbe is the fulfillment of the commandments.
Next, a communal farbrengen took place, with Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber as the honored guest and host. He shared many touching stories about the Rebbe’s unity with all Jews, which helps everyone in any life situation. When someone takes upon themselves the good resolution to fulfill even more commandments, they not only make a gift to the Rebbe but also do good for themselves and for all Jews in the world.
At the end, each girl took upon herself a good resolution, one of which was the mitzvah of ensuring that every Jew has matzah for Passover, the importance of which was repeatedly emphasized by the Lubavitcher Rebbe. After the celebration of Yud Alef Nisan, the girls went to carry out this mitzvah, about which we will share more soon.
The event was organized with the support of the Jewish community of Dnipro.
