A grand concert dedicated to Ukraine’s Constitution Day, titled “With Ukraine in the Heart,” took place at the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly, a unique social institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community.
The literary and musical performance was prepared by the Home’s creative studio under the direction of Rivka Lazareva. Its premiere gave the residents a warm and inspiring gathering, filled with music, poetry, theatrical sketches, and profound reflections on love for one’s country.
The script of the event was entirely prepared in Ukrainian. The program included Ukrainian songs, poems, and theatrical miniatures, united by the common theme of hope, faith in goodness, and confidence that peace and prosperity await the country ahead. Each performance complemented the overall picture, creating an atmosphere of sincere empathy, heartfelt unity, and love for the native land.
A special place in the literary and musical composition was given to the idea that Jews, while maintaining their fidelity to traditions and their heritage, are an inseparable part of Ukraine, which has become their home. The program participants spoke about the importance of praying to the Almighty for the well-being of the country in which they live, and for the Rebbe’s city – Dnipro – with which special pages of Jewish history and spiritual heritage are connected.
The concert was warmly received by the audience, who followed each performance with great attention, supported the artists with applause, and sang along with them to familiar songs. The atmosphere of the event once again showed that creativity not only helps preserve cultural memory and national traditions but also unites people, filling their hearts with hope and confidence in the future.
“For our residents, such gatherings hold special significance, because through music, poetry, and theater we can speak about the most important things – love for one’s country, gratitude to the Almighty, hope, and human unity,” said Malvina Ruvinska, Director of the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly. “It is very important that while preserving our Jewish identity, we share with the entire country its joys, concerns, and hopes, pray for its well-being, and cultivate this feeling in new generations. We are sincerely grateful to our beloved, united, and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, thanks to which such gatherings become an important part of the rich and happy lives of our residents.”
