As we have already said, the Mahon “Haya-Mushka” did not limit itself to celebrating Purim only within the walls of its alma mater – the senior girls, under the leadership of the director of the Mahon, Rachel Milman, went to the Home for the Elderly of the Jewish Community of Dnipro to share the joy of this bright day with its residents.
The young guests brought with them not only delicious gifts, but also a bright theatrical performance, which took place in the cozy winter garden of “Beit Baruch” and brought many warm emotions to the elderly residents. But the girls did not stop there – they also visited those who are no longer able to leave their rooms, congratulated them, gave them treats and shared the festive mood in a sincere, heartfelt conversation.
“We try to raise girls with the understanding that all Jews of our city are not just a community, but a big, united family,” said the director of the machon, Rachel Milman. “And I am very glad that they take this to heart. They sincerely wanted to bring joy to those who may not have close relatives in Dnipro, and they treated the residents of “Beit Baruch” as if they were their grandparents.”
“For each of our residents, it is a great holiday when the machon students come,” shared the director of “Beit Baruch” Malvina Ruvinska. “Their warmth, sincerity, and kind words are invaluable to the elderly. We really enjoyed the Purim performance and we are already looking forward to meeting them again.”
