At “Beit Baruch,” the Jewish community’s senior residence in Dnipro, two major literary and musical programs are currently being prepared. They are planned to be presented to the public for the upcoming holidays of Lag BaOmer and Shavuot.
Rivka Lazareva, head of the creative programs at “Beit Baruch” and a social worker, shared that the first program is titled “Seize the Fleeting Moment of Life.” It includes many humorous, ironic, and engaging works that carry strong motivational energy and inspire the will to live — something especially meaningful for older adults. This program is being prepared for Lag BaOmer, a holiday that lifts the mourning customs observed during the period of Sefirat HaOmer.
After the premiere of “Seize the Fleeting Moment of Life,” rehearsals will begin at “Beit Baruch” for a large-scale performance dedicated to Shavuot. “This play is completely original, written by Yuriy Moiseevich Fleishman, who created his own artistic interpretation of a well-known biblical story,” says Rivka Lazareva. “Yuriy Fleishman also wrote poems and songs for the performance, and even in its current script form, it is deeply touching. We will do our best to bring this beautiful piece to life.”
