On the holiday of Passover, the Hesed Menachem Charitable Foundation traditionally holds model Seder for its beneficiaries, which help elderly people remember all the rules and traditions of the holiday, but because they take place on the eve of Passover, they do not have its restrictions and provide space for communication and creativity.
At the first model Seder, in which volunteers and activists were invited to participate, the participants were warmly greeted by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region Shmuel Kaminezki, acting director of the Hesed Victoria Novoselova, head of the Volunteers service Lyubov Kiss, as well as director of the Museum of the Memory of the Jewish People and the Holocaust in Ukraine Dr. Irina Radchenko and director of Hillel Olena Kolpina. “The Dnepr Volunteer Community, which operates on the basis of Hillel in Dnipro, took over the Seder and its activists were the hosts of the event. This modular Seder featured performances by creative teams and activists of the Freilahs Club – Golden Meidelach, as well as Volodymyr Kovalenko, Lyudmyla Nekrasovska, Rostyslav Pysarenko, Ihor Narovlyansky, Oleksandra Chernenko, Alla Cherniak and others, who created a wonderful festive atmosphere.
Members of Yadid, a club for people with disabilities, were invited to participate in the second modular Seder, and the hosts were again activists from the Dnepr Volunteer Community. This Seder featured a new poem by Marina Popova dedicated to the holiday, as well as a musical performance by Anton Titov and many traditional Jewish and Ukrainian songs.
The event was held thanks to the support of the Jewish community of Dnipro and Joint.
