The holidays of Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, and Simchat Torah, which have the status of “Yom Tov,” were celebrated brightly and inspirationally by the congregants of one of the synagogues of the Dnipro Jewish Community – “Beit Chabad na Poly,” whose spiritual leader is the well-known emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in our city, Rabbi Levi Engelsman.
During the days of Sukkot, dozens of people gathered in the large, cozy sukkah, where prayers and meals took place, and everyone could perform the holiday commandments and feel the unity of the Jewish people. The days of Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah were especially crowded, with joyous “Hakafot” dances dedicated to the completion of the annual Torah reading cycle and the beginning of a new one.
“Thanks to the support of the Dnipro Jewish Community and personally its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki, as well as our sponsors, the holidays, including meals and l’chaims, at our Beit Chabad were conducted with great inspiration, spiritual energy, and brought much joy,” says Rabbi Levi Engelsman. “We invite all Jews living in this area to join our prayers, which are held every Shabbat and on every Yom Tov, as well as our classes.
