On the last day of the holiday of Pesach, in all Jewish communities, the memorial prayer Yizkor is recited, in which we remember the souls of our loved ones who have departed from this world.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

An integral part of the Yizkor prayer is the promise of tzedakah (charitable donation) that a person takes upon themselves \u2013 to give a donation after the holiday in merit of the deceased.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Such an act holds special power: we perform a good deed in the physical world, something that is no longer accessible to those who have departed it. And it is this that elevates the soul of the deceased, adding merit to them before the Almighty.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Since it is prohibited to make donations on the holiday itself, we want to remind everyone of this important promise \u2013 so that each person who recited Yizkor can fulfill it.<\/p>
