When culture comes alive in dialogue and tradition gains a modern voice \u2014 a truly special space is born. That\u2019s exactly what happened at the first “Lamplight Evening” in Dnipro, organized by the Jewish Student Cultural Center Hillel together with the Kesher Project in Ukraine, with the active participation of community leader Ani Altshuler. <\/p>

The director of Hillel Dnipro, Alena Kolpina, shares:
\u201cThe Lamplight Evening brought together culture, history, and heartfelt conversation in an atmosphere full of warmth and meaning. At the heart of the event was the Jewish literary heritage of 19th-century Katerynoslav. Participants were able to explore the imagery of that era, reflect on the life and work of the poet Zelda, and immerse themselves in texts that still resonate deeply today. Through poetry, we journeyed into the past, imagining ourselves in the shoes of Jewish women of that time \u2014 their thoughts, feelings, daily joys, and struggles.\u201d <\/p>

A special part of the evening was the discussion on women’s initiatives and mutual support within the community. Projects created by women for women were presented \u2014 offering opportunities for growth, informal learning, and connection. These gatherings inspire action, dialogue, and new ideas for those seeking more than just a conversation. <\/p>

Soft music, heartfelt atmosphere, warm wishes, and space for reflection \u2014 this evening became more than an event. It was a place of strength and shared spirit.<\/p>
