The celebration of Lag BaOmer was bright and joyful at \u201cBeit Chabad on Polya,\u201d one of the synagogues of the Jewish community of Dnipro. The event was led by the synagogue\u2019s spiritual leader, Rabbi Levi Engelsman, a well-known emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in our city.<\/p>

<\/p>

Participants enjoyed a relaxed and joyful yet deeply meaningful atmosphere. Rabbi Engelsman spoke about the essence of the Lag BaOmer holiday, the work of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, and the customs that mark a pause in the mourning restrictions observed between Passover and Shavuot.<\/p>

<\/p>

The celebration featured kosher food cooked over an open flame \u2013 a nod to the bonfire, one of the most iconic symbols of Lag BaOmer. The cultural part of the evening included a performance by the well-known community singer Valery Litman, whose concert was warmly received by the audience. <\/p>

\u201cWe are sincerely grateful to the Jewish community of Dnipro and especially to Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for their support of our \u2018Beit Chabad\u2019 and this holiday celebration,\u201d said Rabbi Levi Engelsman. \u201cWe have already begun preparing for the holiday of Shavuot, when the Ten Commandments will be read.
