In 1980, a remarkable event took place in the Chassidic world \u2014 the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe issued a heartfelt call to all Jews to come with their entire families to the synagogue on Shavuot to participate in the holiday prayers. What made this appeal especially unique was that the Rebbe delivered it in Russian \u2014 while he usually spoke in English or other languages. <\/p>

The Rebbe deeply understood how vital it is to maintain one\u2019s Jewish identity \u2014 and that this is best achieved through living a Jewish life and upholding traditions within the family. Children who grow up in an atmosphere of Yiddishkeit will naturally pass it on to their own children, along with the awareness of how important it is for Jews to celebrate Shavuot \u2014 the Giving of the Torah by the Almighty. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
