The JBBBS (Jewish Big Brothers\\Big Sisters) project of the Dnipro Jewish Community has summed up a vibrant and meaningful year, and now opens its doors for new participants in the upcoming season. Throughout the year, the program gave children warm gatherings, shared celebrations, creativity, exciting trips, and genuine support.\u201cIs it possible to give a child a happy childhood amid the whirlwind of busy everyday life? The Jewish Big Brothers\\Big Sisters program proves that it absolutely is! \u2013 says project director Tatyana Kaplunska. \u2013 Every Sunday throughout the year we came together to fill our children\u2019s days with warmth, meaning, and true emotions. We celebrated, created, explored, shared knowledge and support, and built friendships among children, teenagers, parents, and volunteers.\u201d<\/p>

Together, the program\u2019s participants organized a model Seder, prepared for Pesach and Shavuot, celebrated Purim and Tu BiShvat, studied the history of the city, went ice-skating, cooked kosher meals, played bowling and laser tag, created terrariums, made candles, held workshops and quests, watched films, and simply enjoyed spending time together. Through engaging activities, creativity, and holiday celebrations, the children learned cooperation, respect, teamwork, and the values deeply rooted in Jewish tradition and culture. Each meeting was more than just an event \u2014 it was a space of friendship, support, and growth, where every child felt important and found their place.<\/p>

Very soon, the new season of JBBBS will begin \u2014 and we are already looking forward to welcoming back our participants, their friends, and families. The program is open to new connections, sincere communication, and inspired collaboration. If you are seeking a warm environment for your child, where learning happens through play, culture, and tradition \u2014 JBBBS is the right place for you!<\/p>

The Jewish Big Brothers\\Big Sisters program is part of the multifunctional Kehilla Project and is implemented with the support of the Dnipro Jewish Community and Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, as well as the Jewish community of Greater Boston (USA). Thanks to this support, we are able to create a weekly space of joy, safety, and development for children and teenagers.
