The second guided tour with historian Mykola Bulany took place as part of the project “Jewish Dnipro: Memory, Identity, Community,” implemented with the support of Joint Ukraine.<\/p>

“This time, our journey led us through the old Jewish quarters in the city center. Tour participants saw active and former synagogues, houses where the Schneerson family\u2014well-known in the Jewish community of Katerynoslav\u2014once lived, as well as apartment buildings and businesses owned by members of the Jewish community. Each object revealed a new layer of urban history, adding special charm and depth to the walk, shared Alona Kolpina, Director of the ESCC “Hillel.”<\/p>

In one evening, we immersed ourselves in a world previously hidden behind familiar facades and felt how multifaceted our city’s cultural heritage is. This journey not only provided new knowledge but also became a point of unity, inspiring further exploration of history and shared discoveries. <\/p>

It is important that we learn to see the imprints of the past in familiar streets, which shaped the face of Dnipro and its cultural diversity. Such meetings become a bridge between generations and remind us: the history of the Jewish community is an inseparable part of our city’s history. Understanding it helps us better comprehend ourselves, our identity, and appreciate the diversity of our shared heritage. <\/p>
