The Museum \u201cMemory of the Jewish People and the Holocaust in Ukraine\u201d announces a special event on the first evening of Hanukkah and invites everyone to attend. The Jewish Museum will host the opening of the exhibition \u201cArt and Memory on Paper\u201d along with the presentation of a beautifully illustrated Ukrainian\u2013Jewish calendar published by the All-Ukrainian Jewish Women\u2019s Organization \u201cProject Kesher.\u201d

<\/p>

Please note!<\/strong> For the first time ever!<\/strong><\/span> the lighting of the first Hanukkah candle will take place inside the Museum. Guests will be welcomed with pleasant surprises and gifts.

Organizers note: \u201cThe world around us changes every day. But there are things that keep us balanced: memory, tradition, and a sense of belonging. This is the theme of the fifth Ukrainian\u2013Jewish calendar from \u2018Project Kesher.\u2019 During the presentation, we will reveal the story behind this unique calendar, decorated with traditional paper ornaments \u2014 \u2018reyzele.\u2019 Guests will learn how Ukrainian and Jewish motifs intertwine in these patterns, which symbols they preserve, and how \u2018reyzele\u2019 differ from traditional Ukrainian vytynanka. It will be a conversation about art, memory, and the dual cultural codes embedded in paper.

The opening will feature members of the author group, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Women\u2019s Organization \u2018Project Kesher,\u2019 as well as community and religious activists. A highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the first Hanukkah candle inside the Museum.
