Traditionally, every evening of the Hanukkah holiday, a ceremonial lighting of Hanukkah candles took place at the Jewish Medical Center (JMC), one of the leading medical institutions in our region. The candle-lighting ceremonies were held both in the central clinic department with the participation of staff and patients, and in the surgical department, bestowing the magical light of the Hanukkah miracle and helping to heal not only bodies but also souls. <\/p>

<\/p>

On the first two and the final two evenings of the holiday, the main chanukiah of the Jewish Medical Center JMC was lit by its General Director, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Rodynskyi. On the third evening of the holiday, the Hanukkah candles were lit by the Deputy General Director for Economic Affairs, Oleh Brez; on the fourth \u2013 by neurosurgeon Dr. David Staryk; the five candles of the holiday were lit by Candidate of Medical Sciences, internist Dr. Oleksandr Bucharskyi; and on the sixth evening \u2013 by marketing department employee Maksym Petrusenko. <\/p>

<\/p>

Separate Hanukkah lightings also took place daily in the surgical department of the Jewish Medical Center, where the chanukiah was lit by neurosurgeon Dr. David Staryk, bringing the holiday’s light to the patients and medical staff of this department.<\/p>

“The tradition of lighting Hanukkah candles in our clinic holds special significance for us, as Hanukkah reminds us of the victory of light over darkness, the power of faith, and unity,” noted the General Director of the Jewish Medical Center, Professor Oleksandr Rodynskyi. “In accordance with a well-thought-out strategic plan, our medical center is actively developing and gaining ever greater authority, helping thousands of people by combining professional evidence-based medical assistance with spiritual support based on solid ethical values, which is made possible thanks to the support of the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki.”<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
