A new holiday episode has been released on the “Menorah” YouTube channel, dedicated to one of the brightest and most unusual days of the Jewish calendar \u2013 Purim.<\/p>

Why does this holiday look like a noisy carnival, yet conceal one of the most dramatic stories of the Jewish people? Why do we rattle noisemakers in the synagogue, stomp our feet, and “blot out” Haman’s name every time it is read from the Megillah? And why in 2026 is Purim celebrated from the evening of March 2nd until the evening of March 3rd, while in Jerusalem it is observed a day later? <\/p>

Special attention in the episode is given to the profound meaning behind the traditions: why is it customary to eat “Haman’s ears” and even drink “until one cannot distinguish” between Mordechai and Haman \u2013 if the essence of the holiday is not merely the feast? Where is the boundary between external merriment and inner spiritual work? <\/p>

Together with Rav Shmuel Kaminezki, viewers revisit the story of Megillas Esther and contemplate why the Name of the Almighty is not mentioned even once in the Megillah \u2013 yet His presence is felt so powerfully through the chain of “coincidences” that reveal a precise Divine plan.<\/p>

The video also delves into the four primary mitzvos of Purim and their significance today: how through joy, generosity, and community unity we can reconnect with our Jewish identity, stop being ashamed of who we are, and enter the month of Adar with the right mindset.<\/p>
