A bris milah ceremony for the son of the esteemed Yomtov Shufotinsky and his wife Tziporah took place in the “Menorah Ballroom” celebration hall of the Jewish community.

<\/p>

The honored role of kvatterim \u2013 the couple who brings the baby into the room \u2013 was given to the Liberman family. To fulfill the role of “heike” \u2013 the people who carry the infant through the hall to the ceremony site \u2013 respected members of the Dnipro Jewish community were invited.

<\/p>

The unique Letter of Blessing from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, which he himself received at his own bris milah, was read by Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber, with its translation delivered by Rabbi Akiva Romanovsky.

<\/p>

Rabbi Mayer Tzvi Stambler was invited to place the baby on the chair of Elijah the Prophet.

<\/p>

The honored role of the seated sandak (the one who holds the baby during the circumcision) was performed by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, who also served as the standing sandak (the person who holds the child during the naming ceremony).

<\/p>

The circumcision ceremony was performed by the Chief Mohel of Ukraine and Moldova, representative of the international organization “Bris Yosef Yitzchak,” Rabbi Yaakov Gaysinovich, assisted by physician Andriy Kirichenko.

<\/p>

The baby’s uncle, Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki, was invited to recite the blessing and announce the baby’s name, proclaiming \u2013 Mayer.

<\/p>

All those present, responding “amen” to the blessings recited during the ceremony, wished the young Meir that just as he has entered the Covenant of Avraham, so too may he go on to Torah, Chuppah, and good deeds.

<\/p>

Immediately following the ceremony, a festive seudas mitzvah \u2013 a commandment meal \u2013 was held, participation in which is considered a special merit.

<\/p>

The Dnipro Jewish Community and our website sincerely congratulate Yomtov and Tziporah Shufotinsky on the bris milah of their son Mayer, and wish that the boy grow healthy and happy, bring much joy to his parents, and go on to Torah, Chuppah, and good deeds.
