Essentially a short film, it begins with a lyrical and penetrating documentary-style vignette showing how deeply young Menachem Mendel Futerfas is immersed in prayer and reflection about his upcoming Bar Mitzvah. Then, a dramatized episode begins, in which the boy’s fellow students recall a historical event that took place one hundred and eleven years ago in our city: the celebration of the Bar Mitzvah of the son of the city’s Chief Rabbi, Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, and his wife, the righteous Rebbetzin Chana. That boy was destined to become the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe and the Leader of our Generation, and he was called by the same name \u2013 Menachem Mendel.<\/p>

The boys converse against a background, created using modern technology, depicting the fa\u00e7ade of the famous Rebbe’s house on the street then called Zheleznaya.
