The “Tov VeChesed” volunteer project of the Dnipro Jewish Community, under the direction of Chana Nesches, once again visited children who require special care \u2013 children growing up without parental support and living in specialized facilities established as part of the “Good at Home” project.<\/p>

<\/p>

This latest meeting was dedicated to the weekly Torah portion of Re’eh, which places special emphasis on the mitzvah of charity and helping one’s fellow. Together with the volunteers, the children read and discussed the Torah’s words about how a person should not harden their heart or close their hand before those in need, but rather open it to those requiring support. The children reflected on how true help is expressed not only through material assistance but also through daily acts of kindness, attention, and a readiness to respond to another person’s request. <\/p>

<\/p>

During the session, the children and volunteers explored life situations in which everyone can demonstrate care for others. The younger children spoke about the importance of sharing sweets, toys, and other things dear to them, while the older ones discussed why people sometimes hesitate to help others, even when it’s not about money but simple participation or physical assistance. The volunteers explained that the mitzvah of tzedakah helps a person overcome greed, cultivates responsibility before the Almighty, and teaches that helping others is not an obligation, but a natural expression of kindness and love for one’s fellow. <\/p>

As always, the meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The volunteers brought sweets for the children, played with them, talked, and conducted engaging activities, creating a sense of attention, care, and genuine support. <\/p>

“We spoke with the children about how an open hand is not only a willingness to share money but also a desire to give one’s time, strength, attention, and care to those around us,” said project director Chana Nesches. “It is very important to understand from an early age that helping others begins with the simplest acts, and the mitzvah of charity helps a person cultivate generosity of heart, overcome personal greed, and become better. This is precisely what our friendly team of volunteers strives to teach the children at every meeting.”<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
