The discussion turned out to be unusual: medical questions, halachic norms, and topics not usually discussed publicly are brought together. <\/p>

At the center of the conversation is Judaism’s approach to health and illness. The discussion covers the medical profession, organ transplantation, hereditary diseases and genetic screening, circumcision, kashrut, and attitudes toward self-medication. A separate point of discussion is why faith does not remove the need to seek medical help, and how Jewish tradition views illness and suffering. <\/p>
