Literary Readings Held at the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly

Literary readings – a warm and heartfelt gathering that united residents around books, stories, and sincere conversation – took place at the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly, a unique social institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community. Such events have long become an important part of life at Beit Baruch, as it is firmly believed here that culture, words, and the shared experience of reading enrich a person at any age and fill daily life with meaning and joy.

Residents gladly spoke about the books they had recently read, sharing impressions, favorite stories, and personal reflections – each had the opportunity to be heard and to feel genuine interest in their experiences. Such gatherings play an important role in the lives of the residents: they stimulate memory and thinking, maintain emotional well-being, provide a sense of connection to the world of culture, and create a space for authentic, deep communication between people.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of warmth and mutual attention – exactly the kind that makes Beit Baruch not just a facility but a true home, where every person is surrounded by care, respect, and the opportunity to live each day fully and with dignity.

“Such gatherings hold special significance for our residents, as a book unites people, draws hearts together, and brings joy,” said Malvina Ruvinska, Director of the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly. “We are grateful for the opportunity to implement such initiatives within the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
