Visit of the Regional Director of Keren Hayesod to the Dnipro Jewish Community

The Dnipro Jewish Community was visited by Uri Oholy, Regional Director of Keren Hayesod – United Israel Appeal for Ukraine and the Baltic countries, on a short but very warm and significant visit. His work for many years has been connected with supporting Jewish communities, developing Jewish life, and strengthening ties between Jewish communities of different countries.

During his time in Dnipro, Uri Oholy met with the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki. They discussed the current situation of Jewish communities, the challenges of the present period, the prospects for further development of Jewish life in Ukraine and the Baltic countries, as well as directions for future cooperation and interaction.

The meeting was particularly warmed by the fact that Uri Oholy is well acquainted with Dnipro and the city’s Jewish community from the time he worked as a shaliach for education at the Jewish Agency “Sokhnut.” Over the years, strong friendly ties have formed between him and the community, which remain to this day, despite the high international level of his current activities and the enormous responsibility associated with his position at one of the most authoritative and influential international Jewish organizations.

Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezki expressed deep respect and gratitude to Uri Oholy and the Keren Hayesod organization for their many years of activity aimed at supporting Jewish communities, helping the Jewish people, and developing Jewish life in many countries around the world, including Ukraine.

“It is always a great joy for us to welcome in Dnipro people who not only hold high international positions but also truly understand the life of Jewish communities in Ukraine, feel responsibility for the future of the Jewish people, and for many years have done a great deal for their support and development,” said Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezki. “We greatly appreciate the many years of work of Keren Hayesod and Uri Oholy personally, and sincerely wish him great success in his high position. May the Almighty help him in all his good endeavors, and may he be able to accomplish even more for the benefit of the Jewish communities of Ukraine, the Baltic countries, and the entire Jewish people.”
