Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region Shmuel Kaminezky visited the AUK Dnipro Campus, which operates at the Menorah Center and is the Dnipro educational space of the American University Kyiv. During his visit, the Chief Rabbi learned about the campus’s facilities, its academic and student infrastructure, and the educational opportunities this project offers young people in Dnipro.
Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezky was given a tour of the AUK Dnipro Campus by Campus Manager Yulia Orel and Student Engagement Consultant Bohdan Yermakov. The Rabbi was shown the classrooms, spaces for independent study and student activities, and was briefed on the campus’s development in Dnipro. During the visit, special attention was paid to the fact that AUK Dnipro Campus is a unique educational project initiated and supported by Ukrainian businessmen. It not only provides access to modern, international-level higher education in their hometown, but also provides special support to ensure access to such education for Ukrainian students, including those of Jewish descent.
A discussion of AUK Dnipro Campus grant programs was a key highlight of the meeting. University representatives briefed the Chief Rabbi on the extensive grant support system provided by Ukrainian businesses, through which sponsors can cover up to 95% of tuition for students from Dnipro and Ukraine. The rabbi was also informed about the possibility of special grants for students with Jewish roots, which can cover up to 99% of tuition. This opportunity to make a modern, world-class education by American standards accessible to young people in Dnipro, including those from the Jewish community, makes the project extremely promising and significant for creating a modern, forward-looking society. Such support for social development has always been a priority for the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
The AUK Dnipro Campus is both a division of American University Kyiv and an important part of the ecosystem of the renowned INSPIRA business community, where students receive an education based on American standards, following the programs and methodological support of Arizona State University. Instruction is provided in English, allowing students to successfully prepare for a global career without leaving Ukraine. AUK Dnipro Campus students have access to ASU’s academic content, modern educational technologies, and international teaching, and can develop an educational trajectory leading to both Ukrainian and American degrees. Practical projects, teamwork, internships, and exposure to the real business environment are important components of the curriculum.
