Today the Jewish world celebrates Tu Bi Shvat, the New Year of the Trees, symbolizing rebirth, growth and the human connection to nature. Jewish Big Brothers/Big Sisters (JBBBS) members began preparing for this bright day as early as the last meeting so that they could greet the holiday with special knowledge and good deeds

The head of our generation, the Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem-Mendel Schneerson, paid great attention to explaining the meanings of Jewish holidays, including Tu Bi Shvat, which we celebrate today. In particular, the Rebbe explained in detail the symbolism and meaning of the seven fruits for which the Land of Israel is famous and which are inextricably linked to this holiday

Representatives of various confessional and national communities of Dnipro, scientific community, students of the city and philanthropists took part in the presentation of the book “Umerovi: the history of the homeland on the tlі of the Crimean Tatar national rukh of the XX-XXI century”, which was held in the regional library of Dnipro.

This year Shabbat coincided with the anniversary of Yud Shvat and special farbrengens were organized at Golden Rose Synagogue to commemorate the 75th anniversary of a key event in the Jewish life of our generation – the day of the departure of the previous Sixth Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak, and the assumption of the title of Rebbe by Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Schneerson
