This Sunday, as part of the JBBBS (Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters) program of the Jewish community of Dnipro, another memorable event took place — a culinary workshop that brought together children, volunteers, and parents in a cozy, family-like atmosphere. Despite uneasy nights and challenging days, many participants came to cook delicious meals, connect with each other, and soak up some positivity.
The program included not only preparing burgers, sushi, and desserts, but also developing valuable life skills: teamwork, responsibility, and independence. The atmosphere was truly heartwarming — full of smiles, support, and genuine joy in working together.
Project leader Tetyana Kaplunska shared:
“It’s in these moments you realize how important it is just to be there. Not only to teach — but to create an atmosphere where a child can bloom. We cook together, but most importantly — we learn to trust, help, and find joy in life even during difficult times.
We sincerely thank the Jewish community of Dnipro and Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki personally for their support, as well as the Jewish community of Boston, USA.
Our gatherings are held under the umbrella of the Kehilla Project, and we are always happy to welcome new participants.
