Matzah Chabura is the crowning beauty of the mitzvah and its most elevated fulfillment

This year, as in previous years, the famous Dnipro matzah bakery “Tiferet Matzot” repeatedly held a special event called “Matzah Haburah” – baking matzah with the personal participation of those who will fulfill the commandment with this matzah during the Seder. Participation in Matzah Haburah is considered an adornment of the commandment and the best fulfillment of it.

This ritual is not only related to the fact that those who participate in it can be absolutely certain that the baked matzah is kosher and that they take full responsibility for observing all the strictures of its making upon themselves without transferring it to anyone else, but above all, to the fact that personal participation in such an important act as preparing the matzah for the best fulfillment of the commandment is essential to glorify G-d and to personally demonstrate one’s willingness to fulfill His commands.

“Haburah is very beautiful and emphasizes our utmost involvement and our utmost seriousness about Pesach and its laws,” says Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki, “many respected rabbis, along with their families and sometimes groups of friends, come to the matzah bakery to personally bake matzah for their Seder and this puts a part of our soul into each sheet of matzah and demonstrates our willingness to fulfill G-d’s injunctions with joy. We are very grateful to Rabbi Meir Stambler for not only creating a world-famous matzah bakery, but also for helping and facilitating the Matzah Haburah for the Jews of Dnipro, other cities of Ukraine and foreign guests”.

The process of making matzah, which consists of only two ingredients – flour and water, has many nuances, subtleties and special rules, because matzah, according to Jewish tradition, so simple in material terms has a huge spiritual significance and requires a very careful attitude. Matzah, especially that which is eaten during the Seder, is not just a “non-Hametz”, it is a product with a special secrecy and its apparent simplicity only emphasizes and strengthens its complex multifaceted spiritual significance.
