Jewish Medical Center “JMC”, the leading medical institution of the Jewish community of Dnepr, received significant charitable assistance from the American organization Our Home Ukraine Foundation (Chicago, Illinois, USA), founded by Ukrainian-born philanthropist Tanya Polsky. A large batch of medical materials and equipment will provide JMC doctors and medical teams with the necessary resources for daily work and providing quality care to patients.
The donated aid included a large number of various consumables necessary for the work of several areas of the clinic. These include sutures and dressings, urethral catheters, anesthesia equipment, replacement parts and a variety of other medical supplies needed for routine use in surgery, anesthesiology and other medical services at JMC.
“It is extremely important for a medical center not only to have modern high-tech equipment, but also to be constantly provided with everything necessary for daily work,” notes General Director of JMC, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Rodinsky, “surgery, anesthesiology and many other medical areas require a large amount of special materials and equipment every day, which often remain unnoticed by the patient, but without which the work of a modern clinic is impossible. That’s why this type of assistance makes a huge practical difference to us: it replenishes essential supplies and allows our medical teams to be confident that everything they need to treat patients and perform medical procedures is at their fingertips exactly when they need it.”
Help for the Jewish Medical Center became part of the large-scale charitable activities of the American organization Our Home Ukraine Foundation, created by Tanya Polsky, a native of Ukraine. The fund provides food, medical and emergency assistance, supports seniors, families, children, veterans, educational institutions, medical and emergency services. A separate area of its activity is devoted to supporting Jewish organizations and communities in Ukraine in cooperation with the Vaad of Ukraine: the fund helps small Jewish communities in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv and Cherkasy regions by providing regular grants for food, medicine, utility bills and holidays, and in total today 27 Jewish communities receive support from the fund.
“We are sincerely grateful to Our Home Ukraine Foundation and its founder, Tanya Polsky, for this significant and much-needed assistance,” emphasizes Professor Alexander Rodinsky. “It is especially valuable that the foundation helps a wide range of people, supporting those in greatest need, medical institutions, and Jewish communities. We also want to express our sincere gratitude to Ukrainian public figure Kirill Lapko, who assisted us in communicating with this organization. The materials donated to us provide additional opportunities to provide high-quality treatment to our patients on a daily basis, helping to maintain health and save lives. Caring for life and health is one of the most important Jewish values and one of the top priorities of the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro, under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
